Serving four out of five Fortune Global 500® companies, Deloitte is one of the “Big Four” accounting organizations, and provides services in audit and assurance, consulting, financial advisory, risk advisory, tax, and more. This project focused on using artificial intelligence to automate data extraction from scanned documents, classify the data from the documents, and provide accurate reporting.
Develop a tool that can “read” documents in order to:
Identify structural and grammatical errors
Classify the content into certain predefined categories
Validate the data in the documents against a set of business rules
We built a robust and scalable system that uses natural language processing and can analyze thousands of documents in various forms. Our tool was “trained” using hundreds of representative documents to recognize patterns in the content and use those to extract data and classify the material.
We also assembled an easy-to-use content platform allowing users to upload their documents into the system and then retrieve data and reports. Overall, the project led to increased efficiencies in the consulting and audit groups.
