Barnes & Noble, Inc., is an American bookseller and Fortune 1000 company with the largest number of retail outlets in the United States. Quantilus focused on building and integrating an eCommerce platform for the used bookseller market.
Complex backend integration of Barnes & Noble’s SAP system and retailers’ data feeds
The Barnes & Noble used book marketplace is a portal where individual booksellers could list their inventory of used books—manually through spreadsheet updates or API feeds. We conducted a complex integration of the already created marketplace with Barnes & Noble’s SAP ERP backend for order processing and fulfillment. This allowed for order processing, fraud checks, nascent sales tax collection services, and fulfillment.
On the front-end website, used book availability and pricing was listed along with the new books. Our work enabled Barnes & Noble to provide single sign-on for users for the new and used book sections offering a seamless buying experience for both type of books.
