“Wearable tech sounds cool, but is there any practical application for my business?”
DiscoverSimple Assist is a Google Glass app that Quantilus originally developed to increase the efficiency of technical support personnel, with machine vision and a voice user interface.
It soon became clear to us that the ways in which Simple Assist can be used reach way beyond tech support. We can customize it to fit the practical scenario that meets your needs:
• “How To” Instructions: Users can get step by step instruction for using, assembling and installing electronic devices, furniture (other home devices), etc. They can also ask Glass for live advanced expert help when needed.
• User Guides: Customers can get instructions on how to use devices and equipment like kitchen appliances, exercise equipment, computers, etc.
• Locating products in a store: The app can guide a user to the physical location of a product (aisle, bin, etc.) in a store using “store GPS”.
Users can interact with the app using advanced voice recognition technology, enabling them to work hands-free.
Machine Vision is used to scan and identify products and parts using data from SAP.
Users can get step-by-step instructions, watch instructional videos, or share their viewport with experts for diagnosis and troubleshooting.
SAP Gateway is used to retrieve the 3D model from SAP and to receive product master data. SAP Gateway is also used to check inventory levels of products and parts, and to place orders directly through the DiscoverSimple Assist app.
Simple Assist is currently built for and deployed on Google Glass and can be extended for use on other wearable Android-based hardware.
